Corner full of memories.

So many memories in such a small space, looking at all the pictures evokes much joy as well as pain.

Diamond Pendant

This is one of the shots I took this morning of a pendant I made recently for one of my customers.
Strobist: One AB B1600 with softbox, one SB800 from front to light the diamond. The pendant is hanging in a simple DIY Lightbox which I created out of plastic pipe and a white sheet.

Leaves.

I told you that I'm running out of things to take pictures of, so if you don't like to see my leaves, tell me what you like to see :)

Snow Cave

The snow is starting to melt for a short period of time and then freezes again building some really interesting snow caves and upright icicles. I liked the emergents of the embedded leaves in particular.

Waiting for better weather!

I'm running out of things to take pictures of, I hope the weather gets a bit better soon so we can spend more time outside. Anyway, short of ideas I will post one of my favorite pictures of a small lobster fleet in Portland, Maine.

Enjoying the flowers.

Short of any sign of Spring, Carol suggested to take a picture of the Tulips she had bought for easter. The flowers got the attention of our little busy cat and it became rather difficult to get a good shot, so I decided to include Pixel in today's picture.

Waiting for their treats.

I got home from work and naturally they where waiting for their treats, however this is the first time that both of them sat on the little stool together, so I figured I'll try and take a few pictures. This is one out of only three shots I had time to do before they decided to move :)

Calla Lilly

Carol brought some Calla Lillie's home today.

Jeep

Didn't have time to shoot a new picture for today so you have to live with one from last fall, this is a few day's after I got the Jeep and was taken on route 4.

Mountain Troll

We Austrians love Troll's, they bring luck and good fortune as long as you treat them well :) This one was hand made in Norway by the artist Trygve Torgersen.

I got the feeling that if a lemon would have a chance it would do exactly that....

This picture was inspired by a post I saw on the Strobist site, so the idea is not original.

Just a fun picture using one of my old handmade beer mugs and one out of many baskets in our house :)

The Russians are coming!

I took this shot of a Russian doll tonight, I'm not to happy with the highlights, this shot is hard. The black sucks the light up like a sponge while the gold paint reflects everything.

I will re shoot and post here as soon as I get a chance.

Guess what I have been doing? This is a Cranberry Almond Coffee Cake I made this weekend, it's absolutely delicious! Can't you taste it?

Napping in the sun

Carol is sleeping away in the warm sun coming from the window while Ozzy is watching me take a picture.

Here is a retouched version of Carol, I hope you like it. All my image processing is done in the Corel Graphics Suite X4. I use flash guns as well as studio strobes and my Nikon D70 for most of the pictures here on this blog.

The Sword

This is the Sword of a Maine Maritime Academy Officer. I am hand engraving the blade with his name, so I thought you might like to see this beauty.

Basket

One of our Longaberger baskets. I really don't like the way the shadows came out, but I run out of time for today. I will re shoot the picture and post tomorrow.

Old and new

No new picture today, but I thought that you would like to see this beautiful new tourist attraction here in Maine. This is a picture I had taken in the fall of 2007. The bridge to the left is the Waldo-Hancock Bridge in Prospect, Maine, it was built in 1931 and has now been replaced by the bridge to the right. The new bridge is called the Penobscot Narrows Bridge, a engineering marvel, it was finished in 2006 and at 420 foot high it has the highest out of only three observatory towers in the world.

Hi

Having had two feet of snow in three day's, Carol can now reach the roof of our front porch, the snow banks are about 6 to 8 feet high and we have no more room for more.

I'm going for a little bit more drama in the lighting, I know this is not the most flattering light, but I think it brings out character.
